The magic, mythology, and romance are very compelling components in Bent, Not Broken and reeled me in deeply enough that I had to finish the book in one sitting.The beginning of the book felt a bit disorienting. Once everything was revealed, however, the beginning made complete sense. The further I ventured into the book the more I came to enjoy it. I found the tribal mythology surrounding the shifters and it's history captivating. What really garnered my attention was the complicated romance in the midst of all the chaos. I fell madly in love with Delaney and Malik. Their desperation in a hopeless situation and the way they kept finding their way back to one another kept me swooning and eager for more.
Bent, Not Broken offers something for everyone to enjoy: action, mystery, romance, mystical elements, and a heart breaking plot twist. There equal amounts of romance AND an interesting story-line. Those are a must for me. I literally cannot wait for book 2! 5 Stars!

I received this as and Advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
I was amazed how many different cultures were in this book. Having a race of people who have ties to places and cultures from accross the world drew me in. I love how some of the area's were described and actually knowing some of the places make me able to see it in my head. Having real places from Oregon & Washington used was amazing, I love when Authors use real places as settings in their books.

To become part of ones life without them knowing, falling in love with them, having times where you guys are together then having to watch as you are erased from that person's mind is something I could never imagine. Malik is living that. Delaney his love has no memory of him, what she is suppose to be and the powers she holds locked inside her. Malik waits for the day when Delaney fused and returns to him. He know that when she finally fuses that her memories will be returned to her and they can finally be together. Little did they know that there was someone from the evil side helping to keep the transformation from happening and when Delaney finally fuses what that will do to them.
As the events playout Delaney is lost, can Malik help Delaney find her way back to her family and him, can they seek out the stolen family member and get revenge for the damage that was caused?
I can not wait to read more stories by Suki.

This turbulent story follows the lives of Delaney and her "guardian" Malik.
Delaney thought she was battling depression and slowly losing it with dreams about a guardian angel who she senses while awake, memory loss and a broken heart she can't explain. When she finally learns the truth she is thrown head first into a world of amalgamates stryders and several other beings. Half of which want her dead
The story starts out really confusing but once it gets into it things start making more sense including what was happening in the first few chapters.
The author masterfully weaves the story of Delaney and Malik using emotive language and fantastic imagery in a way that I can really see this playing out in my mind and think it would work excellently on film.
I think being a film would help with the confusion in the story as well as there are so many names I found myself getting confused about who was who, there is also a lot of information bombarding you that I think this book would require a re read to fully grasp the lore the story tells
The story is told in 3rd person with directed POVs and first person thought trails which helps the reader see into the minds of the characters, these are also written in a different font which helps clearly seperate it from the story and really delves you into the mind and feelings of the characters. The main issue I had was that the POV would switch and the story would jump from past to present with no warning that I often found myself confused about what was going on and it would take me a couple of sentences to figure out what was happening which took away from the story as instead of enjoying the story i was busy trying to piece together whose POV we were seeing and when the scene was taking place.
I love the authors fearlessness at tackling emotional scenes and subsequently the book has no fear in ripping out your heart stomping all over it and shoving it back into your chest so you will be forever changed by the journey of the book with not so much as an apology in sight.
I cannot wait till the next book, the story doesn't end on a cliffhanger but it is clear the story is far from over and I can't wait to delve back into Delaney's world
It may start out a little slow and some parts are a little confusing, but as the story moves forward, it is captivating. There is some unexpected plot twists and some a mix of genres, but it works. The characters have depth and bring a lot to the story. I look forward to reading what comes next. A very entertaining story.
Delaney is a very strong woman at the same time confused about what is really happening in her life while Malik is always struggling to find the truth about his family and protecting his love ones. The story is very unique and you can't help but finished the book all the way to the end once you started reading it. I will be waiting for the next book realease.
This book was an enjoyable read. I really connected with Delaney and her family. This is a unique and thrilling story filled with action and adventure. The beginning of the book can be a little overwhelming until everything is revealed, but then everything flows nicely.
Delaney is a well designed and likeable character and Malik's frustrated love makes you root for the two of them even more. The characters have depth and a realistic nature that it makes them very easy to connect to. It was difficult for me to put this book down, as I wanted to keep reading.
The author did a good job of keeping me entertained and engaged. The action was well scripted and the story line was thoughtful and creative. Definitely looking forward to book 2!
